What is Whiskerton?
Whiskerton is a made up coastal village ruled by fishmonger cats that thrive on the bustling trade of the freshest fish.
As the village prospers, the whiskered residents and mayor are looking to expand their horizons by introducing a variety of events. Whiskerton aims to become a destination for both cats and curious travelers alike.Simply a village where fishmongers wake up bright and early, where the scent of saltwater mixed with catnip blooms, and where every meow carries a hint of adventure.
A few things Whiskerton felines commonly do:
Everyone is born a fishmonger until they decide they don't want to become one. They will be offered a different range of jobs instead.
Love and thrive in the water. Rare to encounter someone that doesn't enjoy being in the water or swimming.
Cat puns in their speech. Usually sounds resembling purrs and meows.
A specific nap time during the day. The felines will shut work down for an hour where they will nap the hour away. A must do for every-feline!
During nap time, everyone usually has hammocks or small beds ready at their workplace that they just need to pull out to sleep in.
Cat-like mannerism to some extend.
Name their fauna and flora with some type of cat pun since it is better for them to understand.

A Purrday For Mew!
Legends say that Captain Purrbeard brought the so known birthday to Whiskerton. But why would such a greedy pirate do such a thing...?
"Did you know that Whiskerton didn’t celebrate these so-called birthdays?Sounds like crazy cat talk, but hear mew out! Cats from all over the island would reunite on the current ruler’s special day, celebrate and then all of a sudden…” he meowed, “Hundreds of fish and crops to feed us for months to come!”Mayor Okie took a deep breath, “Hear mew out well! Cats and moons ago… Back when the village was still new and everything was still a discovery to us!Captain Purrbeard was his name! You might've heard about that greedy purrate, right? This infamous purrate sailed through the Paw-cific Sea, farther than any catfolk! That cat wasn't scared of no bird, kraken or even dog if it meant getting his greedy cat paws on shiny loot. Putting his nine lives on the line for precious jewels, and any treasure out there. In one of these fur-looting adventures, Captain Purrbeard found a strange book that he eventually took back to Whiskerton. This book mentioned a strange celebration, a so-called "Howl Day" where it'd describe a set of things to do on a certain day. In a way symbolizing growth and achievements over the past year in hopes that the next one is better. This specific "Howl Day" speaks of a statue, as the book once told...
"In mantle of verdant green, edges sharp as a winter’s bark. Tail-wagging and untold tales that beckons the mind to wander in realms of the unseen. Treasures and wonders to await a day after."Or as Captain Purrbeard would later put it, "A celebration that could strengthen the bonds among the villagers and its rulers." Ever so curious with the possibility that it would bring further riches his way, Purrbeard shared the information with the catfolk, so much so that meows even reached the Royal Paw's ears.
By the next day, cats began setting out bowls with food, baskets with crops and freshly caught fish. A beautiful bonfire even decorated the beach, while cats arranged precious items for such an occasion."I'll call it a Purrday and its about mew! So many shiny things and oh so much loot! With each pawsing year, I will get so many more things!" Captain Purrbeard's notes mentioned.
"Mow! It was the Royal Paw's fault! This Purrday was for mewself!"
Captain Purrbeard seemed disappointed when the catfolk changed his plan.To Purrbeard's surprise, the Royal Paws had a statue, passed from one cat ruler to another, of similar nature to one described in this Howl Day. With hopes of it benefiting Whiskerton, the Royal Paws and villagers followed the steps indicated.Eventually placing statue in a place they felt it would be safe alongside the gifts and treats that they had prepared that day.
In the heart of a mountain, a cerulean figure stands.
Crafted by skilled paws from times untold. Whispering ancient legends, in hues of blue and gold. A guardian of the mountain, with tales of old.The celebration worked! Crops flourished and fish became plenty, with sunny skies and free of storms, beautiful waves and peaceful tides.
Whiskerton was enamored by the idea! Then there was Captain Purrbeard, he was disappointed, jealous and importantly, angry that his idea didn't work."All that loot is mine! All mine! Everycat did it for mew!"

After a joyous day of plenty of fish and harvest, everycat went to sleep for the night. That was when Captain Purrbeard struck, making his way to the location and put his plan into action! With careful maneuvers, he took the statue off its place and scurried away. Apparently, Purrbeard heard a growl coming from the cave before running away... Eventually, he made his way out of Whiskerton by ship. Never to be seen again... Until years later.
